Applications Developer (TS/SCI + Poly)

Description

The DarkStar Group is seeking an Applications Developer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in McLean, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM
The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. THE PROJECT
The Sponsor has multiple application teams supporting a portfolio which is the central repository for all
Sponsor's created applications. The Sponsor provides state of the art systems on cloud and applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, SharePoint, and other web-based solutions. The Sponsor requires support to coordinate with a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) to develop an updated custom production application which provides workflow and research with the ability to review, disposition, build a profile and update or nominate candidates to other Partner organizations.
The portfolio contains but is not a complete list of the following:

• A custom production application that has a central repository for the search and discovery of internal document sensitive data and associated artifacts.
• A custom production application which provides workflow and research with the ability to review, disposition, build a profile and update or nominate candidates to other Partner organizations.
• A targeting and knowledge management tool which stores products in a centralized repository making it easy for search and discovery.

THE ROLE

• The Contractor shall work closely with the various application teams; however, the Sponsor project manager will manage the priorities.
• The Contractor shall work with applications in the Sponsor's cloud environment.
• The Contractor shall provide support for implementation, design and building enhancements, and long-term maintenance of a new application.
• The Contractor shall design and develop the application in a Web environment.
• The Contractor shall analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
• The Contractor shall design software or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
• The Contractor shall analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
• The Contractor shall perform testing, debugging and quality assurance of the application.
• The Contractor shall play a major role in implementing a modern micro services oriented, high profile, mission enabling application used daily.
• The Contractor shall periodically work on other systems or tasking, as assigned, to support the Project Owners Portfolio IT modernization efforts.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience developing applications using SQL, Python, JavaScript, NodeJS or Golang.
• Demonstrated experience with Relational databases.
• Demonstrated experience with Version control systems such as Git.
• Demonstrated experience using React framework.
• Demonstrated experience with upgrading and refining existing production applications working with legacy code.
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience with development in a cloud environment.
• Demonstrated experience delivering solutions using cloud services
• Demonstrated experience with agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience with working in a fast-paced, technically challenging area; ability to anticipate and manage changes or problems; assess impacts and recommend sound solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with authentication and authorization process.
• Demonstrated experience with Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) security tools.

Desired Skills (Optional)

• Demonstrated experience with Sponsor networks, systems and services.
• Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's authentication and authorization process.
• Demonstrated experience with Scalable Computing, Relational Database Services, Load Balancing, Key Management Systems, Autoscaling, and Storage Services.
• Demonstrated experience with PostgreSQL database, Redis, and SQL.
• Demonstrated experience with the development of system prototypes and proof of concept in order to demonstrate proper application of design principles.
• Demonstrated experience with Continuous integration systems such as Jenkins.
• Demonstrated experience providing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support to production systems to include troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated experience in full stack development.
• Demonstrated experience with REST services.
• AWS Certification or other certifications
