Job Overview

This position will serve as the Science and Technology Advisor for the Computational Engineering Sciences Branch (RWTC). Come perform expert level multidisciplinary professional engineering work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, systems, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines to plan, organize, direct, coordinate significant and complex research projects and/or processes. Please note this position is not for promotion at the DR-04 level, we are looking to fill this as a promotion or lateral at DR-03 level or a lateral at the DR-04 level. • Leads, promotes, and enables research or other professional and scientific work related to the formulation and application of mathematical and statistical analytical methods to resolve critical, multifaceted problems.
• Designs, researches, and conducts complex, major developmental studies that are unique, difficult to define, and require unconventional approaches.
• This work involves analyzing management problems and providing advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to these problems.

Desired Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have deep experience supervising individuals or teams of engineers or have demonstrated the ability at leading or guiding cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to solve technical issues associated with the above subject areas.
• At least 3 years experience managing technologies associated with airborne autonomy research, Unmanned Aerial Systems test platforms, advanced navigation concepts, Artificial Intelligence and multi-agent teaming / collaborative testing. This management experience includes oversight of concept development, engineering activities, test and evaluation, and program management.
• At least 3 years of experience with primary duties in weapons/munitions development, employment/sustainment, test and evaluation, and/or program management.
• Experience related to or supporting science & technology concept development, engineering activities, or program management.
• Demonstrated the ability to lead or guide cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to solve technical or warfighter challenges.
• Experience distilling strategic and/or leadership guidance into actionable plans or courses of action.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated the ability to lead people, build consensus, and identify and resolve conflicts/problems with the workforce.
• Ability to motivate, develop, and grow technical teams.
• Passion for developing innovative approaches and solutions.
• Cultivates and sustains a professional environment of cooperation, cohesion, and teamwork.
• The ability to work and lead others in complex, non-standard, and fast-paced environments.
