General Statement of Duties:

The Senior Programmer/Analyst is primarily responsible for support of and projects related to our Ellucian Banner student information system (utilizing an Oracle database), reporting systems, and related applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Development and maintenance of Oracle database procedures, functions, packages, and triggers using PL/SQL
  • Work on all phases of the development process, including requirements gathering, work effort estimates, program development, testing and implementation
  • Maintenance and development of processes to interface/integrate both internal and external college systems
  • Analyze and troubleshoot existing programming code and correct errors as required
  • Report and form creation and maintenance using Oracle Application Express (Oracle APEX)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot nightly processes
  • Limited system administration of Banner student information system and integrated third party applications
  • Create and maintain user, technical and operational documentation that describes program source/logic changes and corrections
  • Provide technical support, consultation and training to functional staff on the appropriate use of programs and systems including Document Management System, Banner Administration, and Banner Self Service 9
  • Participate on committees where technical representation is required
  • Due to the nature of IT responsibilities, occasional work outside of normal business hours will be required
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of SQL programming experience supporting an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Student Information System (SIS)
  • Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle DB, and Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Experience with Application Programming Interfaces (API)
  • Must possess strong analytical skills; ability to work independently when performing analytical and programming tasks such as designing, coding, documenting, and troubleshooting software and programs
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, multi-task and work effectively with other members of the technical team
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate appropriately and effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Detail oriented person able to maintain confidentiality and security of data and systems
  • Must be willing to learn and try new tools and approaches, take managed risks, and stay current in application software knowledge

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Ellucian products including
  • Insights reporting
  • Experience dashboards
  • Data Connect / Ethos integration management
    • Application programming experience in an Oracle platform SIS (Student Information System) or ERP system with the ability to learn new systems quickly
    • Knowledge and experience in application programming with Ellucian Banner SIS
    • Experience with Oracle APEX, PowerShell, .NET, C or Pro*C, Java, jQuery, and JavaScript
    • Knowledge of Blackboard or other Learning Management System, Degree Works, and TouchNet third party systems
    • Experience with SQL Developer, Toad, and ETL tools
    • Oracle DBA and Oracle Linux experience

    Salary: $100,000.00-$105,000.00
