Telugu lab in the Division of Animal Sciences is looking to hire a Research Scientist with experience and expertise in genome editing in livestock (cattle, pigs) and murine models using CRISPR/Cas system to lead genetic engineering efforts in the laboratory. The incumbent will be tasked with establishing and overseeing SCNT and genetic engineering efforts in the laboratory. Duties include working with and leading a team of supporting research assistants, technicians and graduate students on projects related to genetic manipulation in murine, porcine and bovine embryos, SCNT/ cloning to generate genetically engineered animal models for agricultural and biomedical applications.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Reproductive Biology, Genetics, Animal Science, or related disciplines by the time they apply.
Candidates will be evaluated on: Experience/proficiency in livestock embryo culture, embryo injections and embryo transfers. The candidates are expected to be highly motivated, have critical thinking abilities, and work as part of a team.
