Position Summary

The Vice President is responsible for supervising project teams, oversite of project management, managing the detailing department, connection engineering and project coordination department, and managing the contractual relationships and responsibilities with clients and subcontractors for all projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals, through all phases of project development, implementation, and execution of new construction projects.
  • Conduct hiring interviews to fill critical vacancies, and annual reviews with all current reporting managers.
  • Develop strategies that support the company's growth to acquire new clients.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and positions across the division to ensure the company strategic goals are well implemented and communicated based on our company policies, industry specifications and past operating history.
  • Prepare dash boards and reports to the executive team outlining staffing decisions, project performance, financial performance, and overall schedule adherence.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with customers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors, identifying moments to leverage emerging opportunities.
  • Ensure all projects operate according to the overall schedule and in support of high-level business objectives.

Qualifications
  • This position requires a Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in engineering, construction management or a closely related field and a minimum of 5 years' total experience in the steel industry in the areas described below, or a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management or a closely related field with a minimum of 8 years' total experience in the steel industry in the areas described below.
  • Specific knowledge of steel design, connection design, and steel detailing process is required. The total years of experience required above must include at least 2 years' experience with Tekla structures for design and robotic fabrication and design requirements, as well as experience with Tekla Powerfab, Fabtrol, Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands

This position requires only little domestic travel (no more than 15% of total year) to locations which vary each year, including company project locations, trade shows, and professional conferences. All the physical demands listed are essential functions.
