Job Summary:
At the direction of the Radiology & Cardiopulmonary Services, manages administrative, informational, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, clinical performance compliance and operational functions of all patient care modalities of the radiology and cardiopulmonary departments. Manage staffing concerns, collaborating on resource utilization, resolve performance management issues, and manage clinical activities.

Manage staffing concerns, collaborating on resource utilization, resolve performance management issues, and manage clinical activities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model both within and outside the organization by exhibiting leadership behaviors, such as encouraging and involving others, delegating authority, facilitating decision making and building consensus between and within departments and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the Management Team, Department Directors and professional staff to ensure compliance with regulatory standards while providing a safe, efficient and effective imaging and cardiopulmonary services.
- Manage equipment assessment needs, acquisition, use and delivery of service.
- Apply these responsibilities to clinical and informational components, including all decentralized areas of service.
- Act as a resource and facilitator regarding compliance with radiology and Cardiopulmonary specific policies and procedures.
- Oversee the evaluation of products, supplies, space and capital imaging and cardiopulmonary equipment. Make recommendations for change or modification when appropriate.
- Manage and oversee Radiology and Cardiopulmonary compliance and final documentation of the TJCO and other mandated clinical certifying agencies (NRC, FDA, ACR and MQSA) and all Federal and State standards.
- Coordinate the hiring and performance management of staff.
- Develop staff scheduling programs to maximize staff and equipment utilization and to minimize overtime. Develop the department's capital budget specific to the needs of the department and organization. Participate in planning, data collection and the preparation of reports as appropriate. Represent the Radiology and Cardiopulmonary Departments at assigned meetings and other internal and external activities.
- Keep abreast of new developments in Radiology and Cardiopulmonary.
- Champion the continuing education programs of the department with focus toward developing and maintaining staff's competencies as identified by the TJCO and all regulatory entities.
- Collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer and Radiation Physicist to ensure compliance with the department's radiation safety program.
- Review film badge dosimeter reports, patient-related incident reports and take appropriate action to assure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Enhance the management and leadership skills of supervisory staff and subordinates.
- Manage the administrative, informational, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, clinical performance compliance operational functions of all patient care sections of the department.
- Facilitate decision making and build consensus between departments and colleagues.
- Collaborate with Management Team, Department Directors and professional staff to ensure regulatory compliance.

- Collaborate with the Lab Manager and Lab Medical Director to ensure compliance with policies and Quality control programs.
- Assure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Develop staffing programs to maximize staff and equipment utilization.
- Be a role model for the Hospital's CPR (Caring, Professionalism and Respect) initiative.
- Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Responsible overall function of the Imaging/Respiratory /Cardiopulmonary department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience
- Graduate of an accredited allied health program
Experience
- Minimum 10 years' leadership and management experience
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- Certified with an accredited allied health organization.
- Licensed to perform exams in their given allied health field.
- Certified to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to prioritize duties for timely completion of routine and stat procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills verbally and written.
- Strong customer service skills
- Skilled in the use of computer programs such as; Excel, Word Perfect and Power Point
- Skilled in the use of Hospital information systems
- Strong background in the knowledge and use of fix and non-fixed radiographic equipment
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance standards and required reporting.
- Strong knowledge of regulator standards of the following agencies; NRC, ACR, FDA, MQSA
- Able to forecast short- and long-term objectives.

Physical Demands:
- Lifting/transferring
- Average lifting 20 pounds (case of paper). Able to transfer 50 pounds Able to lift or position clients.
- greater than 50 pounds with assistance or assistive devices, requesting assistance is expected.
- Required in positioning and moving clients and medical equipment. Pushing required performing.
- cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (mask, gown, gloves) when required.
- Regularly exposed to body fluids with the risk of blood borne pathogens or airborne pathogens
- Able to sit, stand, walk or kneel for extended periods of time.
- Able to concentrate on fine detail images.
- Able see close objects and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
- Able to perform repetitive hand-eye coordinative movements.
