What You'll Do in This Position

Provide leadership, oversight and technical guidance to resolve considerably complex issues having division- and/or site-wide implications for two or more IT disciplines. Establish technical programs necessary to support state-of-the-art capabilities within IT while planning for and integrating applicable emerging technologies. Provide leadership role as a task/team leader in technical decision-making process. Makes significant contributions toward establishing IT strategic direction in two or more IT disciplines.

Major Responsibilities
Applies technical experience in field of specialization or exhibit broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources in SRNS to resolve complex problems
Leads root cause analysis for IT, communicates options for resolution and provides recommendations to technology problems
Reviews and oversees IT projects to ensure architectural standards and practices are followed and eliminate duplicate functionality and system capabilities
Acts in an advisory capacity on multi-disciplined teams as a Subject Matter expert (SME) for the department and Site
Establishes and recommends changes to IT policies and procedures
Supports cyber posture and compliance required to maintain Federal Authority to Operate for IT products and services. Ensures due diligence is performed on risk analysis and risk mitigation for technical, business, and cyber risks
Contributes to the development of enterprise architecture standards and policies that promote shared services, infrastructure, optimize reusability, improve integration and system interoperability
Audits performance of defined strategic direction to determine effectiveness
Remains current on multi-discipline emerging technologies and contributes to publications/professional organizations and serves as communications source for technical theories, principles, and concepts
Interacts with DOE-SR, DOE-HQ, oversight panels and boards as appropriate, and other external organizations on matters involving IT technical awareness
Identifies technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them
Prepare/execute plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management
Communicate IT research results and objectives to customers, colleagues, managers, oversight groups and external publication
Develops innovative strategies, plans, and programs for new initiatives for the department or site
Protects business operations by keeping information confidential

Qualifications We Desire
PMP Certification.
Extensive experience in project and program management, delivering solutions in a timely manner while applying Six Sigma principles.
Demonstrated leadership experience in cross-functional IT areas of responsibility as well as specific technical expertise in the following areas; Multi-Tenant Architectures (MTA), Software Defined Networks (SDN) aka software defined infrastructure, and Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA).
Demonstrated IT leadership experience in a safety-first environment while also managing and mitigating risk, with DoE or equivalent.
