The Psychiatrist must provide medical direction, guidance, planning, supervision for our mental health and substance abuse programs; to provide clinical diagnosis and psychiatric treatment service; to participate in consultative educational and evaluative activities; and, to provide related services as required. The Psychiatrist must have sufficient individual competence, professional qualification and experience to provide service coordination crisis assessment and intervention; symptom assessment and management; individual counseling and psychotherapy; medication prescription, administration, monitoring and documentation.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct psychiatric evaluations to diagnose mental health and substance use disorders.

2. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring effects and making adjustments as necessary.

3. Provide ongoing psychiatric treatment and follow-up care.

4. Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisors to monitor each client's status and response to treatment.

5. Collaborate with a team of mental health professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, counselors, case managers, and CSWs to provide comprehensive care.

6. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans and patient progress.

7. Offer consultation to other healthcare providers regarding psychiatric conditions, treatments, and patient management.

8. Keep detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.

9. Submit all documentation within 48 hours of completing the service.

10. Review treatment plans and clinical comprehensive assessments of clients.

11. Stay updated with the latest psychiatric research and best practice guidelines to enhance treatment effectiveness.

12. Educate patients and their families about mental health issues and treatment options.

13. Provide crisis intervention as needed.

14. Establish collaborative agreement with Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, as needed.

15. Any other assigned tasks within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited institution.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Valid state medical license.
Experience in clinical psychiatry, particularly in diagnosing and treating patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
Strong understanding of the integration of behavioral health and primary care services.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
Commitment to ethical practice and maintaining patient confidentiality.
