TITLE: Marketing Manager
REPORTS TO: SVP, Development, Marketing & Communications
LOCATION: Brooklyn, NY
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Reporting to the SVP, Development, Marketing, and Communications, and working closely with key internal and external stakeholders, the Marketing Manager is a new role in Goodwill's Marketing department. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and results-driven marketer passionate about sustainability and bulldozing barriers to employment to join a growing team to market Goodwill NYNJ's mission of protecting the planet and leaving no talent behind.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, results-driven marketer with excellent written and verbal communication skills excited about maximizing existing and creating new strategies to reach target audiences to attract and retain goods donors and shoppers and market Goodwill's mission programs and Business Services to target audiences. The Marketing Manager will bring both creative vision and a data driven lens to marketing in support of the organization's strategic goals. The person in this role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and will supervise the Marketing Coordinator.
Marketing Manager
Liase with internal teams across Goodwill NYNJ to develop and implement marketing strategies to advance organizational goals
Develop marketing campaigns with clear goals and metrics; collect and analyze data to inform strategy.
Oversee social media marketing
o Develop and implement a social media calendar to execute effective social media and marketing strategies across social media and digital platforms
o Utilize social media channels to engage with and amplify Goodwill NYNJ's partners and key stakeholders and to continuously develop Goodwill NYNJ's thought leadership
o Oversee the development of clear, concise and impactful social media content
o Develop and implement effective social media and digital marketing campaigns
o Oversee paid and organic social media strategy
o Regularly analyze data to inform strategy
Manage relationship with website consultant to ensure website content is up-to-date, accurate, and meets the needs of Goodwill NYNY's audiences
Oversee email marketing
o Draft and provide final review of all e-mail content
o Oversee email audience lists, ensuring lists are up to date and accurately segmented according to campaign goals
Liase with Donated Retail Goods team to manage retail marketing needs
o Oversee the development and distribution of both ongoing and ad hoc retail collateral
o Manage the design process and installation of fleetwide brand campaigns, such as the annual refresh of window signage and out-of-home advertising.
o Serve as marketing lead for new store launches, to include development and installation of on-site graphics, external signage, and local awareness campaigns
o Regularly review, analyze and report on data analytics including ROI on marketing investments, trends in shopper feedback, and other key data points
Manage development of print and digital content for external audiences including current and prospective funders, donors, community partners, retail shoppers, and program participants.
o Implement systems to manage flow of requests from internal stakeholders for marketing collateral needs
o Ensure all collateral is edited for clarity and brand adherence
Manage marketing vendor relations and subscription services
o Source and price vendors to ensure prudent spending; serve as primary liaison with vendors
o Ensure vendors remain on budget and on track to fulfill contracted services
Oversee project and budget tracker against goals and annual budgets
Provide support to other special projects as needed
Qualifications
3-5 years of marketing experience; experience at a small shop or across a variety of marketing channels preferred
Demonstrated superb written and verbal skills; ability to create and edit concise written content
Demonstrated success utilizing print, digital, and social marketing channels in support of broader goals; ability to collect, analyze, and apply data to drive strategy
Demonstrated experience with online marketing, social media, and email marketing platforms
Exceptional storytelling skills: ability to market Goodwill NYNJ's mission across print and digital channels to a wide variety of audiences
Strong organizational skills, collaborative and kind attitude, attention to detail, and ability to maintain high-quality work in a dynamic and rapid-response environment.
Ability to manage competing priorities
Experience building systems and processes to collect and analyze data, manage requests from various stakeholders, and ensure projects remain on budget and timeline
Ability to travel throughout Goodwill's service area
Experience managing external vendors
Demonstrated enthusiasm for Goodwill's mission
