The Business Development Manager - Beverage is responsible for pursuing and maximizing on strategic direction and growth, by establishing the Due North brand leading to opportunities for further development.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as a consultant to our customers to recommend our products
- Analyze details of new market segments/niches to assess their growth potential
- Prospect and qualify new business opportunities by using on-line business tools including LinkedIn, following leads from existing clients and networking through associations, conferences and trade shows
- Contact and visit potential customers and existing key accounts to understand customer requirements, promote products and gather information
- Collaborate with Customer Service Representatives, VP and CCO to exchange information on customer accounts, selling strategies and marketing information
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
- Manage customer feedback and concerns
- Maintain customer records, using automated systems - Salesforce and the Due North MRP System
- Negotiate prices, contracts, service agreements and payment terms for customer accounts
- Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and completing expense reports
- Prepare sales presentations and proposals
- Prepare and present quotes, credit terms, and bid specifications
- Provide management with feedback on products and services for any improvement/design modifications or general customer requirements for future product release that would lead to increased customer satisfaction
- Strive for continuous learning and develop knowledge, skills, tools and techniques relevant to your position
You Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent business experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a B2B sales role, preference to those with experience selling to major and independent clients of the non-alcoholic Beverage industry is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written in English.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills along with general skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with a manufacturing company is desirable
- Effective and high-quality customer service and relationship management skills.
- Positive, professional attitude, handling difficult customers with ability to diffuse negative situations.
- Developing rapport and effective listening skills.
- Professionalism - patience, poise and tact.
- Effective verbal and written skills - must be able to explain fairly technical parts information clearly and effectively and timely communication with customers and accurately.
- Effective organizational skills and time management skills including ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and adaptable to change.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

- Proven success of working independently in a remote office environment
- Must be able to travel to the US/Canada and have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to travel approximately 40%
