ABOUT THE ROLE:
Responsible for selling state-of-the-art integrated communication console technology for mission-critical applications in the public safety, transportation, and utilities arenas.
WHAT MAKES A SUCCESSFUL SYSTEM SALES MANAGER?
Acquire in-depth knowledge of applicable markets and product lines.
Identify and qualify business leads and opportunities.
Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales.
Develop and maintain relationships with OEM customers.
Conduct research to determine customer needs and develop sales proposals on technical products & services.
Develop and deliver customized and standard formal sales presentations.
Participate in development of company sales presentations and materials.
Develop and maintain customer relationship through negotiation and close of deal.
Communicate regularly with management on sales status and any related issues.
Provide customers with regular and timely professional written and verbal communication.
Respond to Request for Quotation (RFQ's), Requests for Proposals (RFP's) & Request for Information (RFI's).
Provide monthly forecast, weekly activity report and customer sales reports as required.
Participate in annual trade shows.
Provide consistent and periodic pricing analysis.
Required to perform the job functions in a safe manner.
AS A KEY MEMBERE OF THE TEAM, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:
Proficiency with Direct Sale deployments of 'Mission Critical Command and Control Communication Systems' involving but not limited to: Radio Dispatch/RF Infrastructure, Telephony Systems (E911), Paging Systems, Logging Recorders and Voting Systems and/or interfacing to such system supplied by others.
Proficiency in preparing technical and costing responses to RFQ's, RFI's and RFP's.
Confidence and experience in a customer facing role, preferably using business-to-business consultative selling with professional organizations.
Proficiency in presenting technical products to customers, in the customer's environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey information clearly and accurately.
Active listening, with the ability to determine solutions to complex technical problems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Self-motivated and pro-active, team-player.
Intermediate computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio.
Must be able to drive as part of performing job duties.
TRAVEL: Extensive travel, approximately 60-80% of the time
Must be able to travel overnight
Must be able to travel internationally
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: The following list of requirements are considered the minimum levels of education and experience necessary to perform this job successfully. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job is acceptable.
Experience in IP Networking and either Land Mobile Radio or Telephony preferred.
Minimum two (2) year degree in, Electronics, Telecommunications Computer Sciences, or in related area required, four (4) year degree preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a role responsible for providing sales expertise for complex technical systems, including preparing technical and costing responses to RFQ's, RFI's and RFP's.
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent expertise will be considered
