Position Summary:

Nucraft is seeking a skilled and experienced CAD Systems Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced design engineer with extensive design experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining standards and workflows for CAD and PDM throughout the business. The manager will implement and maintain drawing and modeling best practices and standards while also training and mentoring CAD users on core application skills and standards. The CAD Systems Manager will analyze workflows and recommend efficiency improvements through collaboration with other departments to understand their needs and requirements relating to engineering systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering systems
  • Development and continuous improvement of system meta and nomenclature needed to stream-line integration into the ERP system
  • Providing technical guidance and support to cross-functional system users
  • Conducting regular reviews and audits of engineering systems to identify areas for improvement
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and trends in engineering systems to ensure the organization remains competitive
  • Leadership & Training:
  • Provides continuing education to all staff in the use of our current CAD and PDM systems
  • CAD Management and Documentation: Documents processes, procedures and workflows for organization and discipline-specific distribution.
  • Production and Design:
  • Independently produces and revises drawing templates using the established standards.
  • Performs QA/QC on CAD models, drawings, and contract documents. Recommends best practices for solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develops custom tools and applications to optimize consistency and efficiency of established workflows.
  • Monitors system and user activity KPI's to ensure the system health is maintained within reasonable limits.
  • Collaboration and Support:
  • Works closely with the Engineering Manager (s) on CAD standards, training, initiatives, and other technical needs.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology team to provide user support and assist with implementation of system upgrades and new applications.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
  • Manages engineering system licensing and deployment of roles throughout the organization
  • Liaison between value-added reseller and managed service provider to support system issue resolution and training deployment
  • May perform other duties associated with this role.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership in supporting multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Successful track record in project delivery and adherence to standards.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing design standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
