The Director of Special Services works in conjunction with, and under the direction of, the Superintendent of Schools to oversee and manage the Special Education program and services for the District to:
Qualifications:
NJ Standard Certificate for Principal or School Administrator
Master's Degree in related area (e.g. Administration and Supervision, Special Education)
Minimum of three years successful teaching experience in Special Education. Experience in Supervisory role in Special Services required. Experience in role of Director of Special Services preferred.
Selection Procedure:
At discretion of chief school administrator. 12-month position. Competitive salary based on experience. Anticipated Start Date is on or before October 1, 2024.

The Director of Special Services works in conjunction with, and under the direction of, the Superintendent of Schools to oversee and manage the Special Education program and services for the District to:
- coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of instructional programs for students determined to be in need of special education or related services with the Child Study Teams;
- provide supervision and support to faculty through observation and evaluation including recommendations for professional development;
- ensure that program delivery provides required services and that all programs and faculty in the special services area are of the highest quality; and
- support the District's instructional program-which includes the Children with Autism in Public Schools (CAPS) Program and Bright Horizons PreK Program-by coordinating and supervising special services.
