Role description:
Arcadis seeks a Transportation Infrastructure Design Director (Design Build/ Alternative Project Delivery) to play a key leadership role overseeing the design process for a variety of design build transportation projects. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of design professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $116,000 - $174,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

Role description:
Arcadis seeks a Transportation Infrastructure Design Director (Design Build/ Alternative Project Delivery) to play a key leadership role overseeing the design process for a variety of design build transportation projects. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of design professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Role Accountabilities:
- Lead the design efforts for transportation projects from concept through completion, ensuring designs are innovative, efficient, and cost-effective.
- Supervise and mentor a team of designers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Provide guidance on technical issues, design standards, and project delivery.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients regarding design aspects of projects. Understand client needs and expectations, and ensure designs align with project goals.
- Implement QA/QC processes to review designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to establish project budgets and schedules. Monitor progress and take proactive measures to address any issues that may impact project delivery.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and advancements in transportation design. Apply technical knowledge to solve complex design challenges and optimize project outcomes.
- Work closely with other departments such as planning, environmental, and construction teams to integrate design efforts and ensure holistic project success.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in transportation design, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license - Georgia or Florida or New York or California.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing staff.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Civil 3D.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong understanding of transportation design standards, regulations, and best practices.
