COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $ 93,473 - $132,672 / Grade D
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible to assure that the quality of work being performed in the Division of Car Equipment's Maintenance and Overhaul Shops is in accordance with approved standards and procedures. Critical to this endeavor is to direct internal and external audits to evaluate adherence to regulatory standards, codes, contractual requirements and NYCT standard operating procedures: conduct annual audits for Shop Safety & Procedure Audits, Association of American Railroads (AAR), Facilities Maintenance Plan (FMP), internal system audits and external vendor audits. Review corrective and preventive actions to determine acceptability and follow-up to ensure implementation of corrective action. The Director, Quality Systems is responsible to manage reporting of key performance statistics including MDBF, MDBSCF, SMS Installations, Timeliness of Inspection Report, UITP databank updates, reliability reports, weekly car wash performance and daily mileage verification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a satisfactory equivalent
AND
Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
AND
Must have a minimum of five (5) years in a management or supervisory role

- Experience in subway car or overhaul maintenance or related industry experience
- Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control techniques including audition procedures, industrial/manufacturing engineering disciplines and computer technology
- Excellent project management skills
- Knowledge of NYCT purchasing, distribution and warehousing procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
