About the Role

As Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and coaching our team of Ounce Community Leads, remote care coordinators, and part-time outreach staff in DC. You will be part of the broader Operations Leadership Team at Ounce.

Your team of Ounce Community Leads serve as the face of Ounce within our partner housing communities and work directly with residents every day. Community Leads are cross trained on different workflows, from outreach to enrollment to coordinating clinical care to navigating insurance or other benefits. You will lead these teams, interact with our partners, and collaborate cross-functionally the broader Ounce team to deliver better services and support within affordable housing.

  • Builder: You love building and trying new things! Especially when it comes to people and teams. This role is best for someone who is excited about experimenting with organizational design, people processes and workflows, and our "ways of working".
  • Data-driven manager: You like to use data and evidence to inform how you can best manage and motivate the team.

Who we're looking for:
  • Seasoned manager - you have built and led teams before in a fast-paced environment, preferably teams focused on delivering community-based services or clinical /social care, with some or most individuals on the team working in a community-based or home setting.
  • Direct healthcare & benefits experience - you have some experience working in a role such as care management, case management, care coordination, social services, or community health work, and you are generally familiar with the workflows involved in this work.
  • Hands-on support - you are excited about the opportunity to observe, coach, and manage a large team that is spread out and working across communities. You enjoy seeing your team operate and interact with residents, and you can provide real-time coaching and support to them.
  • Mission-driven - you want to solve problems that align with your values.
  • Adaptable - you are comfortable operating without much supervision, reacting responsibly to new information, and problem-solving successfully.

Other information:
  • Full-time
  • Commute: ability to commute locally throughout DC, as needed, to manage and observe teams.
  • Travel: ability to occasionally travel to other markets to provide in-person oversight, onboarding, training, or management, if needed.
  • Schedule: working hours will mostly be EST, with the possibility to flex to accommodate potential new markets on CST and PST, when necessary.
