Position Summary

We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an IT Project Manager. The responsibilities of the IT Project Manager include overseeing software projects from start to finish, working with client (internal and external) to gather and document requirements, working with managers and leadership to allocate resources to projects, motivating software developers and other team members, giving customer presentations, and writing project proposals.

To be successful as a software project manager, you should have a good working knowledge of project estimation techniques, modern software development life cycle methods, project and ticket management tools, and the ability to motivate team members. The software project manager should have excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Discussing potential projects and their parameters with clients (internal and external), executives, and software developers/QA.
  • Planning out the blueprints for software projects, including defining the project scope, allocating resources, setting deadlines, laying out communication strategies, and indicating tests and maintenance.
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and adhere to the deadlines.
  • Determining and overseeing consistent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of all products in all stages of completion.
  • Hold regular meetings to track milestones, deliverables, and change requests.
  • Serving as a liaison to communicate information regarding changes, milestones reached, and other pertinent information.
  • Delivering completed software products to clients and performing regular checks on the products' performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of proven experience in project management and software development.
  • Minimum three years hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, OnePlan, etc.
  • Experience with various SDLC methods, especially Kanban, Agile, and Scrum.
  • PMP certification is a big plus.
  • Good working knowledge of project estimation techniques.
  • Minimum three years hands-on experience with ticket management systems such as Jira.
  • Good leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.
  • Track record of quickly learning technical functionality of new tools and technologies.
  • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion.
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.


Working Conditions

This is a telecommuting position with a preference for candidates in the Danbury, CT or Boston, MA area. Essential functions are typically performed in an office setting with a low level of noise.
