Description:

Our client is a leading Federal Construction General Contractor that's been in business since 2000 working with Federal government agencies such as NASA, GSA, USACE, ANG, and NAVFAC, as well as state and local government agencies. They are looking to add a highly motivated QC / SSHO at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, OH.

We are looking for someone local or willing to relocate to the Dayton, OH area and can be flexible for travel to different job sites around the state of Ohio

Safety

  • Conduct daily safety and health inspections as well as mishap investigations.
  • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system monitoring outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
  • Maintain applicable safety reference materials and on-site SDS.
  • Implement and enforce approved safety plans (APPS, AHAs, and HASPS).

Quality Control
  • Responsible for all quality control on the project for both company and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and approved submittals.
  • Maintain accurate as-builts.
  • Report repetitive quality problems with a subcontractor/vendor to the Project Manager's attention.
  • Verify and properly inspect all material received for quantity and quality. Ensure all material conforms with the contract documents and approved shop drawings.
  • Maintain and monitor the official submittal log; review all materials/equipment before installation.
  • Plan and execute work for a zero-punch list and efficient project closeout.

Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years experience as a QC / SSHO in Federal construction.
  • Extensive experience in reading and comprehension of blueprints and specifications
  • Experience in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in output.
  • Strong customer service skills including customer needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction assessment.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with the Project Manager to form an aligned team; the sum of your efforts produces a well-run and profitable project
  • Flexibility to travel to different job sites throughout the state of Ohio.

Required Training
  • OSHA Construction Industry Safety Class with up-to-date First Aid and CPR Training/AED (30 Hours)
  • Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors Course Completion preferred; completion required within 90 days of employment
  • EM385 Fall Protection Training and Training for Scaffolding (24 Hours) in the past 4 years
