Responsibilities:
The individual in this position would assist the EP Manager in the interpretation and continued development of policies and programs aimed at ensuring all NYCT operations and activities are compliant with environmental rules and regulations. Environmental program areas include hazardous waste management, regulated waste management, universal waste management, petroleum and chemical bulk storage tank management, industrial wastewater sewer discharges, stormwater management, air emissions/releases, spill reporting/clean up and emergency responses. The individual would provide assistance and support in the implementation of the environmental policies throughout NYCT and ensure compliance with regulatory NOVs and consent orders. The individual would assist with the oversight of various system-wide contracts to ensure legal, ethical, and safe handling and disposal of federally regulated NYCT waste. The individual holding this position would provide immediate supervision over EP Specialists regarding day-to-day EP operations and staff training requirements.
Education and Experience:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in physical, chemical, biological, or environmental science, hydrogeology, industrial hygiene, environmental engineering, or management; and five (5) years of experience in environmental health/sciences, including a minimum of three (3) served in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience as described above.
