QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's degree or higher
2. Possesses a valid South Carolina certificate in secondary school administration
3. Must have a proven record of accomplishment as an exceptional public-school administrator
4. Advanced graduate work in education in the areas of curriculum and instruction
5. Principal experience preferred
6. Successful supervisory experiences
7. Ability to communicate effective writing and orally, with a wide variety of people
8. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

SALARY: Scale 130

JOB SUMMARY: To direct and provide leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best secondary and career and technology education programs and services which the district can provide. Support CTE and coordinate career development services for students participating in CTE.

PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collaborates with the Chief Academic Officer with the development, implementation and continuous assessment of the district's secondary performance goals.

2. Directs the implementation of the secondary district performance goals and standards-based instruction in all curricular areas.

3. Collaborates with the Substitute and Professional Development Administrator to implement staff development programs at the secondary level.

4. Collaborates with the Director of Assessment and Data Analytics in the analysis of test data and the formulation of action plans to address curricular needs of the district.

5. Collaborates with principals in using data from the South Carolina Report Card to formulate improvement strategies to raise student achievement.

6. Directs the professional development and the work-related activities of the high school department heads.

7. Provides leadership and direction for the district's middle and high schools' administrative staff.

8. Collaborates with Principals in the allocation/budgeting process.

9. Collaborates with the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Academic Officer, and Personnel in the evaluation of the performance of each secondary school administrator in the district.

10. Directs and works collaboratively with the development of all curriculum relative to any course of study at the secondary level.

11. Coordinates the selection of secondary textbooks for secondary schools.

12. Writes proposals required for the special funding of secondary programs.

13. Provides leadership in ensuring an understanding of the educational objectives of the secondary and career and technology programs in the district.

14. Directs the secondary and career and technology programs, throughout the district, through regular planning meetings with CTE administrators, CTE teachers, and the principals of the secondary schools.

15. Acts as liaison between the career centers and the community, interpreting activities and policies of the career and technology education program and encouraging community participation.

16. Manages and budgets career and technology monies. Keeps adequate records of all money handled with the records subject to audit each year.

17. Directs the preparation of all school reports for the district office having to do with career and technology education and prepares all state and federal reports relating to career and technology education.

18. Prepares for audits as required by governing agencies in relation to career and technology education.

19. Assists in the development of educational specifications for remodeling projects and new construction in secondary schools.

20. Arranges presentations, formal and informal, to inform the Board of Trustees of current instructional programs.

21. Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students in the career and technology program.

22. Plan, organize, and implement all aspects of CTE including program career exploration, development, and work readiness as well as student follow-up and program evaluation.

23. Facilitates collaboration with parents, business, industry, post- secondary institutions, and community organizations to support students' transitions to post-secondary education and employment.

24. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Chief Academic Officer.
