Nurse Manager - Emergency Services

Position Summary

Works collaboratively with the Director of Emergency Services to manage the operations of the clinical services of the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include managing resources (human, material, and financial), to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of services for specific patient populations. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Recognized as a professional role model, promoting an environment that supports the goals, mission, vision, philosophy and values of the Division of Nursing Services and the Coastal Healthcare Alliance.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Master's Degree in Nursing or other health-related field preferred.
• License/Certifications: Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Maine required, BSN Required, or entry into BSN program within 6 months and completion within 2 years; Current American Heart Association certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS required. CEN Preferred
• Experience: Emergency Services experience preferred, with a minimum of two years of supervisory/leadership experience required; previous management experience preferred.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers, and board of directors
