Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Licensed Social Work Level Ill is an LCSW who works between Tour 2 and 3 in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) as part of an interdisciplinary team. They function as a Licensed Independent Practitioner who is the primary evaluator of adults and children presenting to the psychiatric emergency room.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Licensed clinician with and LCSW and minimum 3 years of experience working with the severely mentally ill, chemically addicted and intellectually disabled population who will be responsible for evaluating adult and child patients in the psychiatric emergency room and supervising licensed and non-licensed employees, based on Director's assignment. Candidate must be able to work with the severely mentally ill, substance abuse and intellectually disabled population, with knowledge of resources and services for this population. The candidate is responsible for supervision, completing performance evaluations, and assisting with staffing schedule. The required shift to work is alternating between Tour Il and Ill shift (128pm) in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) as part of an interdisciplinary team and one day of the weekend. They must be able to function as a Licensed Independent Practitioner who is the primary evaluator of adults and children presenting to the psychiatric emergency room.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties include, supervising direct reports. Collaborating with community agencies (i.e., ACS, OMH, OPWDD, etc.) conducting initial psychiatric assessment for children and adults, safety plans, documenting biopsychosocial assessments, formulation and disposition, developing comprehensive treatment plans, facilitating supportive, psychoeducational and insight-oriented psychotherapeutic interventions, providing crisis interventions to high-risk patients, engaging with and providing support to families, and engaging them as partners in recovery. Identifying and collaborating with existing support systems, facilitating community referrals as needed, collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment team to develop most appropriate case disposition, documenting ail interventions within the required regulatory timeframes. The clinician will be responsible for conducting annual performance appraisals of direct reports and managing case assignments. Candidate may be assigned to work in other clinical areas as needed when patient care needs arise. Good writing skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment required. English proficient a must; ability to communicate in Spanish or Creole a plus.
