Overview

Join a leading federal healthcare consulting contract as a Program Manager, dedicated to transforming healthcare for veterans through strategic health informatics initiatives. This career growth opportunity involves managing a diverse portfolio of IT projects within the Veterans Health Administration or similar environments, with a focus on health informatics or electronic health records. The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree and have at least 15 years of relevant experience with both large and small IT projects, encompassing the full systems development life cycle, enterprise-wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, and management practices.

As the designated Program Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of complex health informatics projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with federal regulations and standards. You will be responsible for managing project cost, schedule, and performance, and identifying and mitigating risks to the program. Additionally, you will leverage SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices to drive value and sustain organizational change and operational excellence through empowering high-performing Agile teams. Your expertise in health informatics or electronic health records projects, preferably within the Veterans Health Administration, will be essential in driving successful initiatives and enhancing healthcare services for veterans. Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of health informatics and electronic health records projects.
  • Oversee full systems development life cycle, from planning to implementation and maintenance.
  • Lead enterprise-wide network engineering and strategic information planning efforts.
  • Conduct business process reengineering to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement and manage structure and management practices for optimal project outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure program success.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, and performance to deliver high-quality results.
  • Apply SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices to drive value and sustain organizational change.
  • Empower and lead high-performing Agile teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and standards.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in program management within health informatics or electronic health records projects.
  • Proven expertise in managing large and small IT projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of the full systems development life cycle.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide network engineering and strategic information planning.
  • Proficiency in business process reengineering and management practices.
  • Strong ability to identify and mitigate risks to the program.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing project cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Familiarity with and understanding of SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices.
  • Preferably experience within the Veterans Health Administration or a similar environment.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
