Director of Utilization Review

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is a brand-new behavioral health provider serving Scottsdale and the great Phoenix region. We opened in February 2022 and now offer a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services. Our modern 120-bed facility offers offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

The Patriot Support Program at Via Linda offers specialized treatment designed to address the behavioral health needs and challenges of active-duty military, reserve, and national guard members. The Director of Utilization Review is responsible for directing and overseeing the Utilization Review Program for In Patient and Out Patient services. This includes the implementation of case management scenarios, consulting with all services to ensure the provision of an effective treatment plan for all patients, oversees the response to requests for services and interfaces with managed care organizations, external reviewers, and other payors. This position reports to the CFO.

Qualifications

Skills / Requirements

  • A master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology or a closely related behavioral health field and two years of professional counseling experience in a substance abuse or mental health treatment program OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time behavioral health experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. A combination of education, licensure and experience and/ or student internship hours may be considered.
  • Licensure issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to engage in the practice of behavioral health in Arizona. LPC, LMSW, RN or LVN Preferred .
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
