What you'll do...

We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful Area Manager to assume responsibilities for Managing the Microgrid Technicians in the assigned area of South, Central and Costal region of Texas. The ideal candidate will be located in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance and exemplifying Leadership skills. Management experience will be recognized as a plus. The candidate must either currently live in the area applying for or be willing to move to the area of assignment.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Manages and coordinates Field Maintenance activities of technicians engaged in maintaining Customer assets, including facilities, equipment, and required inventory by performing the following duties.
  • Manages divisional maintenance department for specified area within a prescribed budget and performance factors.
  • Responsible for staffing, training, vehicles, and safety of technicians. Monitors and maintains all company vehicles, tools, inventory, and equipment.
  • Reviews maintenance reports for compliance to goals, makes adjustments to staffing and assignments as required.
  • Adjusts technician schedules and maintains dispatch on a daily basis.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Maintains safety records and conducts scheduled safety meetings.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Schedules and assigns work activities based on priorities.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Perform yearly performance reviews and identify training opportunities and develop skill inventories of associates.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time, production records and reviews & interprets daily production reports.
  • Confers with other managers to coordinate activities of individual departments. Participates in budget preparation and monitoring departmental expenditures.
  • Manages expectations through electronic maintenance programs and computer information management platforms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Reports to the East Regional Operations Manager and performs other various duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:

  • Experience in generators, diesel and natural gas engines, control systems, electrical and transmission systems.
  • Able to read, interpret and execute steps dictated in service manuals, diagnostic equipment, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong logical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Able to demonstrate and present a high level of professionalism and organization.
  • Electrical end troubleshooting and repair skills are a priority.
  • Communicate equipment status clearly with the Operations Center.
  • Must be able to travel to sites in assigned area.
  • Must be able to travel for extended time periods (expenses & per diem paid).
  • Have working knowledge of engines (exhaust after treatment systems especially helpful).
  • Have working knowledge of SCADA systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives with minimum direct supervision
  • Value the importance of safety practices and procedures.
  • Must possess standard tools of the trade.
  • Must be open to training, direction, and constant learning and improvement.
  • Naval Nuclear Power Program experience is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Lift at least 50 lbs.
