Olema Oncology is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of targeted therapies for women's cancers. Olema's lead product candidate, palazestrant (OP-1250), is a proprietary, orally-available small molecule with dual activity as both a complete estrogen receptor (ER) antagonist (CERAN) and a selective ER degrader (SERD). About the Role >>> Vice President, Corporate Communications
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, we are seeking a Vice President, Corporate Communications, who will be responsible for leading our external and internal communications, public relations, investor relations and corporate branding programs in proactively shaping our corporate message and story while fostering relationships with key stakeholders within the company, financial industry, media and other external stakeholders.
As an experienced leader with an expertise in writing and communicating with a results-oriented approach, you will partner with our finance, clinical, R&D, and executive teams to help articulate our research and clinical development strategy and results in a compelling and digestible message to the market. You will also leverage your strong understanding and 'thought leadership' of the biotech/pharmaceutical communities to enhance the perception and visibility of Olema. The ideal candidate has significant depth of expertise and contacts in traditional and digital media, experience with internal communications, demonstrates understanding of business strategies and executive priorities, and is a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. You are highly curious, collaborative, adapt to change and ambiguity, understand the big picture but are also able to connect dots, and help leaders communicate their strategic priorities.
This role may be based in the San Francisco, CA or Cambridge, MA office and requires a minimum of 2 days per week onsite with up to 20% travel.

The base pay range for this position is expected to be $290,000 - $360,000 annually, however the base pay offered may vary depending on location, market, job related knowledge, skills and capabilities, and experience. Your work will primarily encompass:
Strategic Communications
- As the Vice President, Corporate Communications, you will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership of all the company communications
- You will lead our external investor strategies as well as manage our external and internal communications ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms to all stakeholders
- You will lead the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive corporate communications strategy and manage relationships with the investment community, including investors and sell-side analysts
- You will lead the development, management, and maintenance of strategic corporate, Investor Relations and Public Relations communication materials in collaboration with other key players
- You will also be responsible for all corporate communications, including corporate visibility, media and public relations, alignment with corporate strategy and public affairs
Corporate Branding
- In partnership with internal functional leads and Human Resources/People Team, you will contribute to company branding, employer branding and internal messaging strategy and execution ensuring appropriate messaging and organizational branding
- In collaboration with our Legal team, you will ensure that all communications comply with pertinent SEC rules and FDA regulations
- You will oversee management of existing corporate websites to ensure a best-in-class and consistent message
Internal & External Communications
- You will create press releases, earnings releases, presentation decks, scripts, Q&A's, reports, web content, announcements, social media and other communication materials in support of investor and analyst events, roadshows, conferences, achievement of corporate milestones and other noteworthy accomplishments
- You will work with external agencies to create and articulate a clear vision and integrated, global strategy for the communications function within Olema
- You will partner closely with our Human Resources/People Team to oversee all community engagement functions regarding women's oncology, breast cancer and our expanding pipeline
- You will liaise with government, media, and other external agencies and work with other health authorities, regional boards and partner agencies regarding common issues and announcements
- You will lead Olema's efforts to engage our employees and growing population to ensure our value proposition is shared with key stakeholders while enhancing and protecting the company's reputation
- You will determine the communications strategy and manage the creation of, including writing as needed, a variety of communications materials, such as videos, internal communications, executive speeches and internet/intranet materials that support the company's strategic objectives
Executive Communications
- You will work collaboratively with the Executive Team to lead and manage the company's participation in annual and quarterly meetings/calls, analyst events, road shows, and other critical events to successfully achieve investor relations strategies and plans
- You will regularly review the strategic analysis of issues and determines appropriate proactive and reactive messaging to enhance and improve the reputation of the organization and support the vision and direction

Knowledge:
- 15+ years of proven experience working in leadership roles within communications and public relations, with a minimum of 8-10 in biotech/pharmaceuticals
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or communications, public relations, journalism, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated track record of crafting and executing successful, proactive communications programs that employ creativity across traditional media, social media and internal communications
- Experience working with high performing teams and demonstrated ability to collaborate, lead, facilitate, influence, and organize across groups and at multiple levels of an organization across research, clinical development and commercial groups
- You are perceived by others as an expert in communications with a strong working knowledge of the science, the pipeline and major issues in the pharmaceutical industry
Experience:
- You will have experience in providing strategic advice and counsel to senior leadership/executive teams related to communications strategy, crisis communications and reputation management
- You will leverage your knowledge of the life sciences industry to shape narratives that resonate with our partners and position us as an inspiring, leading organization
- You will have crafted and promoted a coherent strategic vision while managing the nuances of communication within a growing, publicly traded company
- You will have deep expertise leading and driving end-to-end communication from conception through implementation
- You will have Digital expertise with social media and video & digital channels
- You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an understanding of SEC and FDA regulations impacting communications and experience in crisis communication and issues management
- You have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and key industry influencers, including existing relationships with top-tier media and journalists
- You are a strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into effective communication strategies
