JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide leadership and ensure compliance for grant programs designed for ensuring student success. Monitor and provide training to ensure that spending and reporting requirements are met and that applicable rules and regulations are adhered to in accordance with laws and regulations.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the development, monitoring, and revision of campus planning through needs assessment analysis budget planning and expenditures to ensure all activities meet federal guidelines.
  • Evaluate student progress, as part of a comprehensive evaluation system, on a regular, systematic basis and use the findings to determine the effectiveness of federally funded programs.
  • Ensure that federally funded programs result in student academic improvement and success, or revise or replace that program.
  • Ensure that instructional materials and staff development are research based to improve the instruction, through the application of federal funds.
  • Communicate effectively with principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community.
  • Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution.
  • Address the inequity of resource utilization to provide a high-quality educational opportunity for economically disadvantaged students.
  • Develop and implement an effective evaluation system for federally funded programs.
  • Actively support the efforts of others to achieve District goals and the campus performance objectives.
  • Confer regularly with assigned staff to discuss performance; jointly develop improvement objectives to identify professional growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate grant development and implementation with appropriate staff.
  • Implement the policies established by Federal and State law, State Board of Education rules, and the Board policy in the areas supervised.
  • Coordinate the process of allocation of resources to ensure that District and campus goals demonstrate progress addressing area need.
  • Implement a data-driven improvement cycle for federal programs based on academic achievement that includes needs assessment, goal setting, strategies and objectives, timelines, monitoring, formative and summative evaluation.
  • Develop and implement formative and summative assessment of campus and District federal programs.
  • Research grants that would be applicable to the needs of the District.
  • Write and apply for grants that would be applicable to the needs of the District.
  • Support student expectations for at-risk, Bilingual/ ESL, special education, economically disadvantaged, homeless, migrant, and other special population students are effective in furthering the teaching/learning process and environment.
  • Support District and campus procedures that enhance healthy self-esteem and ensure that student expectations and student management procedures are age-appropriate.
  • Provide training to leadership and campus teams to ensure compliance and efficient use of federal funds.
  • Observe professional and ethical standards, in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics.
  • Communicate the District's mission and goals in the area of compensatory education to the community.
  • Solicit community and family engagement to strengthen school to home connections.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • EXPERIENCE:
    • Three years successful classroom teaching experience
    • Three years successful experience in leadership roles as a campus administrator or district level experience
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education/Certification:
    • Master's Degree in educational administration and/or curriculum and instruction
    • Texas Principal certification, or other appropriate Texas certificate (if out-of-state, eligible for Texas Principal as Instructional Leader)
    • Instructional Leadership Training (ILT), Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL), or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
    • District approved teacher appraisal system, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction at the elementary and intermediate levels
    • Working knowledge of federally funded programs
    • Working knowledge of the campus improvement planning process
    • Working knowledge of the Plan4Learning software
    • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of programs for PK-6
    • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

    SALARY:
    PAY GRADE: AE-4 - Minimum pro-rated salary - $83,647
    DAYS: 226 START DATE: 2024-2025 School Year
