POSITION SUMMARY

COIC is looking for a qualified Youth Education Manager, who is passionate about supporting barrier challenged young adults. $5,969.00 to $10,466.00/Monthly, DOE and Qualifications. The ideal applicant will be experienced in overseeing an education program, preferably in an alternative education environment and possessing an Oregon TSCP Principal License. ROLE OF DEPARTMENT
COIC provides an individualized educational program that empowers youth to achieve academic success. We do this in partnership with local school districts and partner organizations, providing educational services in an alternative high school setting to students ages 14-21. Our program supports students in seeking credit recovery and completing their GED or High School Diploma. COIC also provides a Work-Education, a work-experience program that combines classroom education with community and natural resource projects.

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the direct oversight of the COIC Education Program. Work directly with COIC contracted school districts and partner organizations to implement COIC education program design, negotiate contracts, collaborate with partner programs and ensure federal/ state/ local education standards are met. Coordinate with COIC's Youth Employment & Training Manager to ensure alignment with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) standards. Responsible for negotiating contract agreements with school districts and ensuring billings are completed in a timely manner.

FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and supervision to COIC's youth education staff who are delivering services to students and families through direct knowledge, interpretation and application of youth education and employment programs and through local, state and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the best use of available resources (personnel and non-personnel) in all COIC's and partner school sites in all geographic areas.
  • Develop, budget for, implement, maintain and evaluate COIC's high-quality education programs designed to assist students,
  • Responsible for programs meeting requirements service and outcome expectations of various funding sources.
  • Act as COIC facilitator with contracted school districts and partner organizations. Review student/teacher outcomes.
  • Assure continued accreditation with oversight agencies, execute school contracts, perform local school district evaluations, complete Oregon Department of Education (ODE) annual application.
  • Evaluate programs and staff effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements and modifications.
  • Represent COIC's best interests at state, regional, and local meetings related to K-14 education programs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED

A Master's degree in Education with a current Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) Principal's License, plus two (2) years of work experience as a Principal of a school and/or managing staff in a teaching program. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and licensure will be considered.

Additional Preferences:
Additional preference will be given for a current Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSCP) Professional Administrator License.
