Hi there, we're Article. We're an online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. As the 3D Designer & Digitization Specialist, you'll dive into a fast-paced, detail-driven role at the intersection of architecture, interior design, and 3D visualization.

You need to have "Professional" experience using "3ds Max". You need to know how to take your product scans and digitize them in 3ds Max. Please ensure your portfolio is showcasing this skill set. If we don't see this in your application and resume then we won't proceed to the next step.

Why We Need You:

Article has begun to leverage CGI imagery, so we can launch products quicker onto our website while having them in visual settings to inspire our customers.

Your days will be spent using various technologies such as 3D scanners, photogrammetry, and other specialized equipment to capture the physical world (i.e. our furniture/decor product line and potentially some architecture down the line) and convert it into digital form (Rendered in 3dsMax). Your expertise lies in understanding and utilizing technology to capture and process detailed 3D models for various marketing purposes.

About the CGI team:

The current CGI team is 9 Particles - they are a mix of Designers, Visualization Artists, and Production Managers. They work closely with our Product teams and marketing to ensure we are visualizing our products accurately and in beautifully rendered spaces.

We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week.

What You'll Do:
  • Capture and create high-quality 3D models for use in images and animations for marketing applications.
  • Texture, map, and create 3D models.
  • Produce end facing customer white background images.
  • Collaborate with the Virtual Production Managers, Technical Director and Creative Management to control quality standards for 3D assets.
  • Review models and work closely with creative and project management teams to devise project solutions.
  • Establish practical methods and best practices for working with scanning equipment and software tools that support modeling capabilities and integration into 3D pipelines.
  • Engage with various modeling partners, 3D data, and, model catalogs, and integrate 3D model maintenance.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and test methods and tools that support operational and lifecycle decision-making using 3D data, spatial-temporal information, and visualization systems.
  • Evaluate and collaborate with internal and external partners providing 3D asset scanning, additive manufacturing, and other suppliers or services.
  • Develop and deliver enhancements to existing 3D data workflows and processes to create new functionality for business initiatives.
  • Work with 3D artists to develop tools and workflows to enhance project and production processes.
  • Identify and conceive essential features to improve and optimize 3D pipelines and communicate them to key stakeholders.
  • Review asset submissions to verify quality and confirm deliverables follow specific workflow standards.
  • Collaborate with team members within 3D & CGI to establish industry best practices for Article.


Who You Are:
  • 5-7 years of Professional working experience with 3D data in product scanning and rendering in 3ds Max- this is your specialty!
  • Professional experience working with 3D visualization workflows
  • Experience in furniture, interior, and/or architectural visualization is an asset
  • Professional experience in scanning for marketing applications
  • Passionate about making shopping for a beautiful space radically easy - we want people who love making this happen
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Completion of criminal background check

*Prorated

The expected salary is $80,000 to $90,000. The actual base pay can increase beyond this range and will be based on various factors, including transferable skills, training and certifications, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
