Executive Director of Student Success
We are searching for an experienced Executive Director of Student Success at our Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Associate Provost for Educational Effectiveness and Enrollment Management, the Executive Director of Student Success is responsible for delivering service excellence and continuous improvement in the Registration Office and Academic Advising, and actively contributing to institution-wide enrollment, retention, persistence, completion, and career outcomes efforts. Their leadership drives the strategic planning and operational effectiveness of the Registration office and Academic Advising, and coordinates communications to continuing students in collaboration with the One Stop Executive Director. The Executive Director of Student Success oversees and manages the Registration and Academic Advising offices. They work collaboratively with campus constituencies in the development and implementation of policies, practices, and strategies to promote student success and close equity gaps - including the Learning Centers, Disabilities Services, DEIB office, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs. They lead the Academic Response Team. They will develop and implement data-informed strategies to improve student success. They will leverage existing technologies as well as conduct research to propose and implement new or improved processes and platforms to improve retention, graduation rates, and career outcomes. They are responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a comprehensive enrollment management plan based on the student lifecycle, from enrollment through attainment of educational goals and entry into industry. The Executive Director of Student Success is responsible for developing, tracking, and maintaining the annual operating budgets of Advising and Registration as well as allocating all financial resources. The Executive Director of Student Success prioritizes the Educational Effectiveness unit's contributions to a quality campus climate and to equity and inclusiveness.
CORE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees Registration and Academic Advising. Collaborates with the Registrar and Director of Academic Advising to determine goals, objectives, and strategies for the departments. Develops short-term and long-term plans.
Builds a team that empathizes and values each other's ways of being, communication, doing and thinking and which embraces, integrates, and adapts
to diverse cultural styles. Assesses performance and provides feedback. Counsels and disciplines as needed. Identifies and recommends opportunities for training and professional growth.
Coordinates all continuing student communications with the Executive Director of the One Stop
Leads Academic Response Team
Manages and analyzes data, including preparing the Weekly Enrollment Report, to measure progress and formulate strategies for advising, registration, retention and graduation rates
Oversees the enrollment cycle of the College
Oversees the implementation of the Retention Task Force strategic plan; leads relevant action items on the strategic plan
Implements strategies to meet continuing student enrollment goals
Co-leads Financial Appeals Committee
Leads Emergency Needs Committee
Leads ongoing assessment and improvement of Enrollment Management, Academic Advising and Registration outcomes, operations and work processes
Provides support to the faculty and others in managing students with academic and financial issues that may negatively impact student performance and success.
Withdrawal/Leave of Absence outreach (both outgoing and incoming)
Office of Educational Effectiveness liaison to One Stop/Financial Aid, Disabilities Services, Business Office, Career Services, CARE, and DEIB Office.
Collaborates with academic programs on student success initiatives
Professional development liaison for Registration and Academic Advising staff
Manages budgets of all assigned units
Collaborates with IT to leverage existing technology systems and databases to improve the effectiveness of Registration and Academic Advising and to identify and improve student success
Oversees and evaluates academic policies and practices to ensure strategies equitably support enrollment and retention
Participates in a professional manner in required meetings, committees, and projects.
Represents the college and campus professionally at external activities, whether assigned or voluntary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred. Demonstrated understanding and experience of higher education issues related to retention, persistence, student success and academic support. Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, lead and manage multiple initiatives and offices related to student retention. Demonstrated experience in program development and management. Experience working with diverse student populations and understanding of the needs of students and families from various backgrounds.
PREFERRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
Preferred qualifications: - Prior experience in undergraduate degree programs, academic advising, registration, retention, and enrollment management. - Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in roles directly related to student success programming and retention. - Strong belief in the potential of all students to achieve at high levels, with a commitment to closing opportunity and achievement gaps. - Demonstrated ability to develop others' capacity effectively and creatively, with high performance expectations. - Self-starter capable of breaking down complex projects into actionable goals, targets, and milestones. - Ability to derive meaning from observations, experiences, and data to generate insights that inform critical decisions, even in uncertain circumstances. Proficient in using multiple data sources for decision-making and fostering a culture of learning from mistakes. - Humility to step back, observe, listen, and learn when necessary to support others' growth. Open to receiving and providing effective feedback. - Persistent in seeking innovative ways to support student success, with a strong sense of agency and urgency. - Visionary mindset to conceptualize and contribute to long-term goals. - Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills. - Proficiency in office technologies including Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and student success software; familiarity with Banner SIS preferred.

Salary Range: 99,888.00 - 123,397.00
