Description

The Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE) is one of the nation's largest health information exchange organizations. IHIE has been around for over a decade, with its roots dating back 30 years. As a not-for-profit HIE, we enable hospitals, physicians, laboratories, payers, and other health service providers to avoid redundancy and deliver faster, more efficient, higher quality healthcare to patients in Indiana. Today, by making information available to approximately 50,000 healthcare providers in Indiana and neighboring states, we deliver services that make a real difference in health and healthcare.

Summary: To effectively steer and grow the organization and to ensure operating efficiency, the Sr. Technical Project Leader provides the leadership and vision necessary to drive results for internal strategic projects. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer because of the importance of the strategic projects that spans the entire organization.

In this role, you will ensure that these projects include:
  • Cross-team collaboration and consensus building
  • Strategic Plan alignment
  • Annual Company Goal alignment
  • Data, Product, and Technology Roadmap alignment
  • Resource Capacity Planning alignment
  • Annual budget forecasts and budget management, including total cost of ownership for acquisition and ongoing support

Essential Functions:

Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ensure the successful deployment of internal, cross team solutions across our diverse infrastructure.
  • Actively engage with the project sponsor(s) and share ownership of project outcomes.
  • Engage, inspire, and guide cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate creation of functional and technical requirements for projects with input from key stakeholders leading to successful project outcomes.
  • Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership, overseeing the planning, requirements, and end-to-end project execution processes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, understanding their unique needs, and aligning project execution strategies with their objectives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across all internal teams.
  • Focus on resolving problems and delivering results, regardless of the source of issues or solutions.
  • Formalize comprehensive implementation plans, timelines, and project milestones, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with VPs, Directors, and Managers to define and implement effective strategies for projects that align with the organization's strategic plan and cross functional areas of the Company.
  • Communicate effectively across internal and external stakeholders to explain, motivate, and push implementation projects to completion. Constantly review and adjust the project resources and structure needed for project success.
  • Apply technical knowledge and project leadership experience to drive results and optimal outcomes.

    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Advanced degree highly preferred

    Experience:
    • 5+ years' experience in healthcare information technology in technical project leadership roles
