The Civil Transportation Solutions Operation at Leidos has an opening for an energetic and detail-oriented Test Engineer to support the FAA MSBRS program (Mode S Beacon Replacement System program). The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing test procedures, conducting dry-runs and conduct formal testing with the FAA customer, and associated plans to verify the compliance of a Mode-S Secondary Surveillance Radar to allocated functional and performance requirements.
Test Engineer responsibilities:
Test procedure development will support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) at selected FAA facilities of this radar and include verifying the Radar's coverage and performance as well as its integration with selected FAA systems.
Develop the test procedures, exercise the test procedures in the intended environment ("dry runs"), be responsible for formal test conduct testing at selected FAA facilities, including leading a team of test engineers conducting formal testing.
While it is expected that existing test procedures for Operational Site testing can and will be leveraged as the starting basis for these SAT procedures, a review of selected test equipment to ensure that the specification and selection are correct should be conducted. Finally, integration of test equipment into a measurement system and development of automatic test scripts should be evaluated as part of the position scope of work.

Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of *relevant experience, a Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience will also be considered. *Experience with test procedure development to meet defined test approaches and success criteria is required. Ability to write clear, unambiguous test procedures is required. Attention to detail and demonstrated self-starter is required.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with specialized Radar test sets and simulation environments is desired. Understanding of the principles of Radar and RF propagation is desired. Experience with laboratory equipment including spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes is desired. Experience with automation of test and automatic control of test instrumentation is desired. Experience with National Instrument LabView or equivalent test automation software is desired.
Travel Requirements: This job will average approximately 33% travel to test locations to include dry runs and formal testing at selected FAA facilities.

Pay Range: Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
