The Application Engineer is responsible for the process development and product support of various applications of Ingersoll's composite manufacturing machine tools. Included are all activities required to develop optimized processes, produce accurate cycle time for sales proposals, train customers, and assist in composite.

Summary:
The Application Engineer is responsible for the process development and product support of various applications of Ingersoll's composite manufacturing machine tools. Included are all activities required to develop optimized processes, produce accurate cycle time for sales proposals, train customers, and assist in composite.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes customer part manufacturing requirements
- Develops and optimizes complete manufacturing processes
- Tests alternative techniques and manufacturing process'
- Recommends changes in procedures, equipment, or practices as needed
- Provides training to internal and customer personnel
- Ability to follow a project from proposal to installation
- Produces technical reports for customer and internal use
- Visits customer facilities to support introduction of systems into production
- Visits customer facilities to identify and resolve processing problems, doing so potentially under pressure and on short notice
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
- Has the ability to work overtime and/or on 'off-shifts' as required by business needs
Qualifications & Experience:
- CAD experience: preferably CATIA, SolidWorks, or ProE
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ambitious self-learner with efficient time-management skills
- Ability to travel in USA and abroad for extended periods
- Ability to instill customer's confidence in Ingersoll's competency and reliability
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
- Must maintain professional appearance and behavior
Other requirements:
- Preferred Working knowledge of computer programming: preferably VB/VBA, C/C++, Python
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical background
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
