We are now seeking for our first dedicated Customer Security Engineer. In this role you will partner closely with our Sales and Customer Success teams, as well as working directly with our customers as a trusted advisor and advocate for our security solutions.
What you'll do
  • You'll be customer facing. You'll be a trusted advisor to customers and an advocate for our security solutions. You'll work with prospective and existing customers to promote Dovetail's security posture and security features through security questionnaires and presentations. You'll also work with our larger customers in setting up the security settings in Dovetail.
  • You'll be a strong business partner. You will be the go-to person for all things security working closely with the Sales and Customer Success team to support our customers. You'll take ownership of any security reviews requested by our high-touch customers as part of their procurement processes. You will also work closely with our Legal Counsel, Head of Security, and Head of Operations on risk management and contract negotiation with our enterprise customers.
  • Provide product-related feedback. You'll work closely with our product teams to provide feedback and guidance on Dovetail security and enterprise features.
  • Wear many hats. You'll be the first member of the security & IT team in our SF office to own elements of our security practice, such as physical security, security training, IT management, data privacy compliance, maintaining our public-facing trust center and security documentation. As part of an early team no job is too big or too small for you to roll up your sleeves.
Your background
  • Experience being customer-facing. You'll be a great communicator who has experience speaking with customers to understand their needs and be able to present security solutions that suit their requirements.
  • Experience implementing security solutions for technology companies. Ideally, you have been involved in the procurement of enterprise software and have strong understanding of the security procurement process.
  • A strong knowledge of product and security trends. You know that privacy, data and security practices are constantly evolving and you are eager to keep up with any developments and subsequently implement organizational change. You'll provide guidance to our product and engineering teams on enterprise security features that align with current trends and customer requirements.
  • Subject matter expertise. You'll have knowledge of cloud security controls, security tools and concepts, information security standards/regulations and SSO concepts.
  • Attention to detail. You are extremely detail-oriented, and understand the importance of technical accuracy when it comes to protecting the information assets of Dovetail and our customers.

Compensation Range: $195,000-$205,000 base salary. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for equity and benefits.
