Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Energy & Controls Engineer will analyze, monitor, make changes to improve and reduce, and train/educate employees on the effectiveness of the energy consumption throughout Ballad. This individual will be the key advisor on all energy matters from cost estimating, equipment specifications, drawing reviews, construction documents and maintenance of operations. The Engineer will develop and implement Energy Management Plan through the use of technology that promotes energy savings and sustainability for Ballad. The Enginerr will provide expert judgment and analyses for engineering design in order to ensue owner's requirements are fully documented, minimize first cost, improve energy efficiencies, ensure standards are met and coordinate all controls requirements. Additionally, the Engineer will coordinate building commissioning / re-commissioning activities to ensure building systems meet the design intent and expectations.
The Engineer will troubleshoot all HVAC systems to minimize cost, ensure optimum system performance and simplify system operations and maintenance. This individual will resolve complex technical issues and identify control system innovations in order to ensure comfort, manage energy costs and consumption, and avoid air quality issues. The Engineer will write and maintain energy managements guidelines for all Ballad Health buildings. The Engineer will conduct Energy Audits and Training based on the BAS guidelines. The Engineer will also analyze building systems and collect data on energy usage and efficiencies. In addition, this individual will establish energy standards and goals and track energy usage through means such as EPA Energy Star or ASHE E2 programs. The Engineer will ensure all build systems comply with all State and Regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in engineering or HVAC required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Ten years experience in the field of controls, energy management, and or HVAC required. Shall have the ability to read and follow written instruction. Ability to perform or learn the following: read and follow equipment schematics, read and interpret blueprints, use tools and instruments common to the trade.
Must have a valid driver's license.
