Verdantas is a national consulting group seeking a talented Geologist III to join our team in the Irvine, Office.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field tasks, including data collection, measurements, excavation observation
- Prepares field notes and related documentation in accordance with company standards
- Operation and maintenance of remediation system
- Maintain excel databases associated with regulatory compliance
- Assist with preparing regulatory submittals, such as permit applications and plans
- Oversee well installations and soil borings
- Collect groundwater, soil, sediment, air, and surface water samples
- Retrieve necessary data using online databases, off-line records, or other means
- Enter collected data into report format using applicable software and company formatting guidelines
- Apply basic knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and regulatory programs
- Assist with on-call emergency projects on occasion
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Chemistry, or Environmental Engineering (or related discipline)
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus
- Previous consulting experience is a plus
- Must have a personal vehicle for independent transportation to work sites
