What You Will Do
Process Equipment Maintenance & Decontamination Services (PMDS) provides a comprehensive and integrated maintenance program supporting plutonium process equipment for DOE Nuclear facilities. Glovebox and programmatic process equipment maintenance activities are performed by PMDS as directed by the owning/operating groups in compliance with Conduct of Engineering (CoE), Conduct of Operations (CoO), and Conduct of Maintenance (CoM) policies.
The Manufacturing Manager 1 (MM 1) will serve as the lead supervisor for the Programmatic Maintenance Work Management Team composed of Work Control and Work Control Planning personnel and will report to the team First Line Manager (Manufacturing Manager 3). The selected candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of their team, provide on the floor supervision and direction, as well as develop and deliver improved, customer-focused, processes and procedures as well as coaching and mentoring of the team members.
The selected candidate will assist in the oversight and management of TA-55 programmatic work control activities such as developing, reviewing, maintaining, updating and the closure of work packages, group assigned FSR's, PMR's and backlogged and deferred work. The selected candidate will also assist in the oversight and management of work order development activities for equipment and/or system corrective maintenance, and/or preventative maintenance work packages, support development of estimated maintenance and project support costs in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations. As well as any additional tasks as assigned by the Group Leader/First Line Manager. Selected candidate will be expected to work independently and interact with a variety of stakeholders both in writing and in person.
In addition, the selected candidate will ensure that safety and security are an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing a job is unsafe or could compromise security.

Education/Experience : Position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
DOE 426.2: Order requires HS diploma and 3 years of nuclear experience.

Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. What You Need
Minimum Job Requirement
- Experience in supervising multidisciplinary teams of professional staff in a office environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with a Computerized Work Management System such as Asset Suites (CMMS), MicroStrategy, and Facility Service Request (FSR) and Programmatic Maintenance Request (PMR).
- Expert knowledge of the theory, principles and techniques of the planning and work package development process.
- Experience in project and program management, including planning, organizing, and resource management.
- Ability to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning for unique and/or complex activities, both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Experience with nuclear high hazard facility operating requirements, safety authorization basis and/or Conduct of Operations planning and execution.
- Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of executing work in compliance with nuclear facility requirements and the authorization basis as specified under 10 CFR 830 Nuclear Safety Management and 10 CFR 835 Occupational Radiation Protection.
- Experience the Laboratory's maintenance and facility, Records Management, Document Control, PA-AP-01000 and AP-Work, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to obtain HRP certification.
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
