Operations Manager

Job Description:

The Operations Manager is responsible for building and developing the team and processes to execute D2G Group's strategic objectives. This role will lead receiving, inventory management, quality assurance, and all warehousing operations across two shifts within our Distribution Center. The Operations Manager will oversee a team of 20+ Material Handlers, QA Technicians, Inventory Control personnel, Team Leads, and Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety and Compliance:
  • Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA guidelines.
• 5S and DMS Programs:
  • Expand the 5S and DMS programs in the Distribution Center, enhancing existing foundations.
• Team and Culture Development:
  • Build a customer-centric team culture focused on exceeding customer expectations for quality and delivery.
  • Motivate and develop the team through DMS and team meetings, as well as individual performance feedback.
• Performance Metrics:
  • Utilize existing KPIs and develop new metrics to assess performance and drive improvements.
• Lean Principles and Continuous Improvement:
  • Train and coach employees on lean principles and facilitate practical process changes to reduce waste.
  • Define and execute CI projects using tools such as A3s, process flow mapping, and the DMAIC process.
• Process Optimization:
  • Optimize process flows with the Contact Center and Manufacturing to streamline communication and order fulfillment.
• Staffing and Resources:
  • Evaluate staffing and equipment needs to ensure adequate resources to meet shifting sales trends and business growth.
• Budgeting and Resource Planning:
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process, providing input on personnel, operating, and capital expenditure plans.
• WMS System Expertise:
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the company's WMS system (Solochain), leading testing and training initiatives.
• Routine Management Activities:
  • Schedule employee shifts, review payroll hours, issue disciplinary documents, and conduct annual performance reviews.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in operations management, engineering, or supply chain preferred.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
