JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
The Manager of Teaching and Learning will evaluate and provide leadership for the overall instructional program of the district. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Teaching and Learning Department including curriculum development, implementation of curriculum aligned with best practice teaching and learning strategies, and compliance with state and national testing requirements under the supervision of the Chief of School Innovation.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Level Details
Master's degree
License / Certification Required
Valid Colorado Principal/Administrator License.
Work Experience Required
A minimum of three years' experience in a curriculum leadership role.
A minimum of five years of successful teaching and/or administrator experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise members of the department including Instructional Coaches and Specialists.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands, work environment factors and mental functions described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds frequently.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in a usual office or school environment. The Employee may be required to work from a remote location in the event of a district shut-down or other event.
Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, compare, analyze, coordinate, instruct, evaluate, and use interpersonal skills. Occasionally required to compile, copy, compute and negotiate.

Instructional Leadership
- Develop and articulate a clear vision for academic excellence in the district.
- Provide strategic leadership in the design and implementation of innovative educational programs and practices.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Oversee the creation, development, alignment, and evaluation of curriculum across all grade levels and subject areas.
- Ensure instructional practices are research-based, data-driven, and aligned with state and national standards.
- Support the integration of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate professional development programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of educators.
- Support teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies and interventions.
- Promote a collaborative professional learning community among staff.
- Research and Development: stay abreast of educational trends and research to incorporate innovative practices into the curriculum
- Continuous Improvement: lead initiatives for continuous improvement of academic programs and student outcomes
- Monitor and evaluate student performance and outcomes to ensure academic standards are met
- Utilize data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement in student performance.
- Ensure the effective use of data to drive decision-making and resource allocation.
- Work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, parents, and community members to support academic initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to build understanding and support for academic goals and programs.
- Foster partnerships with higher education institutions, businesses, and other organizations to enhance educational opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and policies related to academic programs.
- Monitor and report on the progress of academic initiatives and student achievement.
- Develop and manage budgets related to academic programs and initiatives.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the summer school principal and the Superintendent of Schools.
