About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Category Manager to play a pivotal role in expanding the breadth and depth of products available in our online store. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our e-commerce merchandising and drive significant growth for Stamps.com and Auctane.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in vendor management, a strong understanding of e-commerce and a passion for sourcing new brands and onboarding new products.

What will you be doing?
  • Vendor Sourcing and Onboarding: Identify and onboard new vendors for both dropshipping and owned/manufactured goods, aligning with Stamps.com's and Auctane's product strategy and target audience.
  • Product Expansion: Continuously expand the product assortment in our online store by adding new SKUs from existing and new vendors.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable contracts with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, acting as a liaison between vendors and internal teams.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor vendor performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and customer feedback to identify trends and inform vendor management decisions.
  • Team Building: Build and lead a team of vendor managers as the role and responsibilities expand.

What are we looking for?
  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in vendor management or a related field within the e-commerce industry.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate favorable contracts and terms with vendors.
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Results-Oriented: Proven track record of exceeding targets and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform decision-making.

What will make you stand out?
  • Experience with both dropshipping and owned/manufactured goods.
  • Familiarity with shipping and logistics industry.
  • Experience managing a team.
