New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is currently seeking a full time Director of Administrative Sercvices. The Director of Administrative Services position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned NECS departments. This position directly supervises the teams responsible for answering telephone, providing new patient intake, completing prior authorizations and patient advocates. The responsibilities of the Director of Administrative Services include maintaining fiscal accountability, quality and regulatory standards, maintaining a high level of patient/family centered care and service, patient and staff satisfaction, program development and managing and developing teams. The Director of Administrative Services must work in collaboration with the Clinic Directors to ensure efficient integration between the teams above and clinic operations. This role regularly communicates with Senior Leadership and Site Lead Physicians.
NECS is a private medical practice composed of 18 oncologists and hematologists serving the region currently from five separate locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Experience and Skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coaches and leads healthcare team members in the performance of patient care procedures and processes with a focus on accuracy, safety and competence. Provides coaching, counseling and discipline as needed.
- Approves and maintains timecards for direct reports.
- Ensures the departments are appropriately staffed at all times.
- Delegates to and supports team leads in areas of responsibility.
- Interviews job applicants, makes hiring recommendations, and helps coordinate new hire orientation, ensuring all necessary training is completed.
- Ensures that resources, supplies, and materials are available for teams to successfully perform their functional roles.
- Assists in the development of department/division goals and works to achieve those related to administrative services and clinic operations.
- Role models for staff incorporating organizational initiatives and adapting to changes in clinical care, research and patient safety.
- Coordinates & participates in continuing education programs and in-services, national and regional professional organizations and community sponsored programs specific to Oncology and Hematology.
- Maintains patient care standards and assures that patient care functions, such as assessment, treatment and documentation are completed safely and effectively and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Education and/or Experience
- Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration or a relevant field of study required
- 3-5 years of progressive healthcare leadership preferred
- Previous management, leadership and collaborative experience.
- Strong business acumen and communication
