About You
As the School Risk Management Consultant for the TASB Risk Management Fund, you will be responsible for utilizing your unique knowledge of the risk management process to create and deliver educational resources to Fund members seeking to implement similar practices. Your guidance and experience in educational enterprises will help members develop and implement responsive risk management techniques and programs for their organization. This is a hybrid position. Successful candidates would be required to work in office 2 days per week. Remote work may be an option for qualified applicants outside of the Austin-metro area.

About You
As the School Risk Management Consultant for the TASB Risk Management Fund, you will be responsible for utilizing your unique knowledge of the risk management process to create and deliver educational resources to Fund members seeking to implement similar practices. Your guidance and experience in educational enterprises will help members develop and implement responsive risk management techniques and programs for their organization. This is a hybrid position. A Typical Day
- As a thought leader, you'll identify, develop, and curate public-education focused risk management resources, content, services, and programs to address known and emerging risks in efforts to mitigate and reduce losses.
- Work collaboratively with claims managers, risk management marketing consultants, risk solutions consultants, and other TASB staff to make sure members' needs are promptly addressed.
- Create and maintain quality training, resources and other materials that may include articles, job aids, checklists, slide decks, on-demand content, best practices, and guidance on risk management topics and other education-related issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships and agreements with service providers qualified to provide risk management services and resources to members.
- Monitor and respond to changes in statutory and legal environments affecting members.
- Keep up to date with current news and information affecting school risk management to ensure timely and informed decision-making by members.
- Identify, evaluate, and monitor school district's operational and strategic risks.

How You'll Make an Impact
- Support the critical work of Texas public education by ensuring Fund members have the risk management information and resources they need to better serve their school districts and communities.
Skills or Success
Education and Experience:
- Four-year college degree in risk management, business administration, occupational safety and health, communication, education, or a related field.
- Five years of professional experience in risk management, safety and health, or insurance with public school emphasis.
- Professional certifications and licenses preferred include Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or similar professional licenses or designations.
- Valid Texas driver's license required.
- Experience with hands-on public-school and/or higher education risk management, developing and administering risk management and loss prevention programs strongly preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and Abilities:
- A risk management practitioner that can be a critical thinker and thought leader.
- Ability to research issues and synthesize information.
- Ability to develop presentations for diverse audiences.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical information into content that can be easily consumed by a non-technical audience.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with members, external contacts, and vendors.
- Must have good organization skills to perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite for presentation and reporting creation.
- Ability to obtain designated campus visitor clearance.
- Knowledge of/experience working with third party vendors desired.
- Ability to routinely use standard office equipment such s computers, phones, and copiers.
- Ability to possibly travel up to 30% in business related events to include overnight stays.
- May be required to execute onsite training and events that may fall outside of the normal 8-5pm workday.
