This Electrical Engineer II position will be an enthusiastic, focused, team-oriented individual responsible for the development of state-of-the-art electrical and electronic designs, with a focus in PCB design, for use in commercial and military fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft. The developed electronics will be integrated in severe aerospace environments with regard to considerations such as altitude, thermal, vibration, EMI, lightning, etc. This Electrical Engineer II will participate in the definition of the product, originate specifications, develop design documents, or generate other documentation in support of design and development activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design new products and modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, regulatory, industry standard, and market requirements
Design single sided, double sided, and multi-layered PCBs using industry standard techniques while ensuring considerations for DFM/DFT have been incorporated
Responsible for completing PCB/CCA designs in accordance with agreed time, cost, quality, and performance requirements
Collaborates with electronics engineers in the process of schematic capture
CAD library administration including component symbols, footprint generation, and database maintenance
Create and maintain standard CAD design rules to meet IPC-2000 series guidance.
Support and provide technical liaison within engineering and other company departments, as well as external suppliers
Participate in and occasionally lead multi-discipline design reviews both internally with peers and externally with customers
Provide technical support to internal departments, suppliers, and customers as related to the product
Other engineering duties may be assigned per schedule and resource requirements
Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture
Evening/night hours may be required and/or extra hours may be required during business peaks
Other duties may be assigned
Travel specifictity
Travel requirements: Occasional travel (less than 5% annually) within the U.S./Outside the U.S.

The work environment is split between office and laboratory work, with most work being performed in the office. The noise level in the office is typically quiet while the noise level in the lab can occasionally require hearing protection.

Education and/or Experience
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
A minimum five (5) years' experience in electrical/electronic engineering design in a regulated industry
Experience in analog and digital circuit design including op-amps, comparators, discretes, ADCs, and power switching circuits

Knowledge/Skills
Proficiency in a schematic capture program such as Cadence OrCAD

Timeliness in estimates and reports for projects
Strong communication and team-building skills
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while performing multiple tasks
Preferred Skills :
Experience in PCB layout work in regulated industry (i.e. aerospace, automotive, or medical)
Experience with EMI and lightning PCB routing considerations
Experience with high current and high voltage routing considerations
Experience with digital design including microcontrollers/DSPs, FPGAs, and digital bus communication considerations
Experience with PCB layout for ball grid arrays and other small pitch components
Experience establishing complex design rules to maintain design integrity
