Highline Public Schools' Digital Transformation & Innovation Department is seeking a Data Literacy Specialist to join our Research & Assessment team for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year!
PROFILE: The Data Literacy Specialist will support and facilitate school teams to build capacity in data-informed decision-making. This position is responsible for supporting the collection, analysis, interpretation and planning around data to support equitable teaching and learning. The ideal candidate has experience facilitating adult learning directly connecting data and instruction. They collaborate with school and central office teams to ensure our instructional staff has the support needed to engage with data and data tools in impactful ways and collaborate with their team members to ensure that those data tools are informed by practitioner feedback and need. They support the planning, development, and execution of district MTSS initiatives through cross-departmental collaboration and site-level team support. This role has current working knowledge of research based instructional strategies and serves as the content area expert on the team. They take a systems perspective to understand the training and support needed to deliver on our strategic plan, and serve as a direct service provider to facilitate support with site-level teams.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to, and is evaluated by, the Assistant Director of Research & Assessment.
SUMMARY: The Central Office Specialist is an accomplished teacher who serves in a leadership role at the system level. A specialist provides expert consultation through facilitating collaboration, instructional coaching, and serving as a system leader across a variety of roles. The Central Office Specialist sees their ongoing learning and development as essential to achieve equitable results for all students.

- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- WA State Teaching Certificate with endorsements appropriate to subject area and grade level of assignment
- Three years successful teaching experience -and-
- One year successful experience as a specialist or similar role
- ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Criminal background clearance and all certificates, licenses, endorsements, permits, and vaccines (absent exemption) as required for this position by state and local authorities.
