INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST-CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION
2024 - 2025 School Year
(199 DAYS PER YEAR)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in area of assignment
  • Successful classroom teaching experience
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies and methodologies in core content areas; in-depth knowledge of frameworks and content standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of needs of diverse student population
  • Specialized training in reading/language arts, intervention, math or English language development including AB 466/SB 472 (completed or in progress)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others

  • REPORTS TO: Administrator as assigned

    JOB GOAL: To improve student achievement by providing consultative services in
    various curricular- related areas and professional development activities
    designed to increase teachers' skills, instructional delivery and effective
    utilization of instructional materials

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists school sites in program implementation and alignment of instructional delivery in core content areas
  • Assists teachers with diagnosing and prescribing instruction to meet needs of students
  • Conducts demonstration lessons and assists with curriculum and pacing of programs to ensure adopted programs are used as designed
  • Demonstrates effective strategies and teaching techniques
  • Assist in preparation of curriculum guides and manuals as requested
  • Assists in alignment of instructional materials and assessments
  • Assists with development of district assessments
  • Assesses needs and assists in development, implementation and evaluation of special projects and programs
  • Organizes, facilitates and provides professional development
  • Plans collaboratively and delivers differentiated professional development
  • Gathers and analyzes data and prepares reports and proposals
  • Works collaboratively with and facilitates groups and grade level teams
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • SALARY: $71,526 -$141,798 anually (199 day. Max. salary includes education and bilingual stipends)

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act and completion of Sexual Harrassment Prevention training.
