Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Associate Dean for the JM Program, is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing program objectives. This includes, managing the overall development of the JM curriculum. Continually evaluate and update courses to achieve strategic and academic program goals.
  • Responsible for providing strategic guidance for developing and managing academic programs, including curriculum and concentrations, for the JM Program to the Associate Dean for the JM Program. Serves as a strategic partner within the senior management team of the JM Program. Utilizing extensive knowledge of the JM Program, is responsible for providing recommendations on program planning and development. Responsible for the management and implementation of program policies and procedures and coordinating strategic projects.
  • Conduct outreach to strategically identified academic departments in the University to promote JM courses that may be beneficial to students in other degree programs and explore other avenues of collaboration. Responsible for managing and implementing resulting collaboration.
  • Responsible for academic management of JM certificate program.
    In coordination with the Associate Dean and the Assistant Director of the JM Program, showcase the value of JM courses and communicate what students learned to the requirements of positions students are interested in. Assist in identifying and setting up internships and externships to better serve JM students, specifically those who are beginning their careers and/or shifting to a different one.
  • As a member of the JM Program leadership team, responsible for partnering and coordinating with colleagues to design and engage in marketing strategies based on outreach efforts and feedback from professors. Utilizing feedback (i.e., faculty) and TIA engagement with students, is responsible for assisting with ensuring the overall and ongoing quality of the JM Program.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Dean for JM Programs, continually review and refine the responsibilities of JM faculty and TIAs. Responsible for advising JM faculty regarding best practices and expectations for leading and overseeing TIAs assigned to their course(s), providing feedback to students on their assignments, and engaging with students on a regular basis.
    Ensure that TIA training practices adequately prepares TIAs for providing feedback to students. Monitor feedback provided on assignments, coordinate with faculty and TIAs to address weaknesses and improve quality.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and advisement of adjunct faculty (i.e., in-house counsel, senior law firm attorneys etc.) for the JM Program. Adjunct faculty advisement consists of providing guidance in the development of courses and teachings within their area of expertise and practice.
  • Assists JM faculty in developing new courses and updating existing courses to encompass new regulations, regulatory guidance, statutes, and risk management frameworks relevant to the courses. Responsible for developing orientation, training, and processes for guiding and supporting JM faculty. Provides guidance to JM faculty relating to student-specific matters and serves as liaison between JM faculty and the JM Program.
  • Conduct outreach to professional associations and certifying organizations (in highly regulated fields such as health care, human resources, financial services, privacy, and cybersecurity) to promote cross collaboration. Establishes and maintains relationships to proactively meet the needs and challenges of the program.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to course site manager. Provide guidance to and coordinate with Academic Success Manager to achieve student and program goals.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and the same experience equal to eight years. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
