Project Manager, OSP Construction NTI

OSP Construction Role Summary -

The Project Manager, OSP Construction will be responsible for managing the quality, on-budget, and timely delivery of fiber services to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Project Manager, OSP Construction:
Lead Construction projects and provide leadership and mentorship through coaching and feedback.
Ability to read and understand contract documents, drawings and specifications, as well as understand building systems, construction materials, electrical, design and engineering concepts applicable to data & telecommunications infrastructure projects.
Perform site visits, conduct site surveys and document existing conditions, as well as perform take-offs, submit RFQ's and RFI's, develop scope of work based on contract documents complete with scope inclusions, exclusions & classifications.
Work in collaboration with a network of subcontractors and material suppliers, to guarantee best value pricing, timely estimates, and quality of work available on every project.
Project Manager OSP Construction must be familiar with various Outside Plant (OSP) construction methods including structured cabling and wiring methods such as building conduit and riser cabling design, aerial, directional boring, backhoe, trenching, and plowing operations as well as digger and bucket truck operations.
Accountable for construction projects to be delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
Responsible for detailed reporting on all programs in vertical (Microsoft Suites).
Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project.
Work directly with customers and municipal agencies to address and resolve concerns quickly and effectively.
Develop, coordinate, and execute project schedules with vendor partners, internal stakeholders, municipalities, and government agencies.
Coordinate and participate in regular meeting series to ensure communication and alignment of initiatives, information sharing, and implementation of best practices.
Measure team and project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
Diligence in quality control reviews and attention to detail.
Oversee project close out documentation.
Participate in daily meetings that may include after hours and weekends where needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Project Manager, OSP Construction:
5+ years of PM/OSP experience, including engineering, splicing, and/or construction.
Experience managing large-scale projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience leading a team in a fast-paced industry.
Highly capable in Excel and Microsoft Suites with proficiency in data capture, analysis, and presentation.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Must have computer competency, including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, and understanding of database programs.
Experience in proposal development and projects for and/or customer experience with federal, state, local governments, and commercial installations
Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations.
Knowledge and experience in outside plant engineering and/or installation/construction.
Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Ability to work within critical deadlines and driving accountability is a must.
Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Proven ability to lead, facilitate, develop, and motivate a cross-functional team in a competitive environment.
Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance.
Strong computer skills with Visio, CAD, and MS Office i.e. Excel and MS Project.

Education and Experience for Project Manager, OSP Construction:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Project Management Professional Certificate or equivalent certification and minimum 1 year managing Data Center construction jobs or a minimum of 3 years managing critical environment construction.
