The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 30% sitting, 40% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.

Grandview Middle SchoolWhat You'll be Doing:
- Conduct small group counseling sessions in response to identified needs within the school system. Topics may include academic skill building, social development, career awareness, conflict resolution, family issues, making healthy choices.
- Provide individual planning sessions for each student in the areas of academic planning and career awareness.
- Assist parents in addressing school related problems; refer parents to outside agencies and specialists when necessary.
- Assist in transition to middle school, high school, and post-secondary options.
- Salary: $55,772 - $109,982 (Salary dependent upon education and experience.)
- M/D/V insurance, Life insurance, Retirement benefits, Paid sick leave and Paid time off and/or vacation.
- Working days: 5 days per week / 180 days per year
- Hours per day: 7
- Education: Masters from an accredited college or university in job-related area.
- Experience: Experience working with children and families of varied cultural backgrounds preferred. Experience in high school counseling preferred.
- Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Must have a Washington State ESA Certificate, endorsed in School Counselor preferred. Must meet WA State Certification Criteria.
- Minimum qualifications: Relates well with students, parents and peers. Willingness and ability to work in a team environment. An enthusiastic, creative and resourceful motivator of students. Present a neat, clean, professional appearance at all times. Must be goal oriented (long range and short range).
