Your Impact
Our Records team re-imagines the way officers write reports in the field to how detectives help prosecute crime. Police reports come to life with video at the heart of the record to tell the full story. By leveraging data and deeply understanding our user's journey, we can support new strategies for how officers get paperwork done accurately while increasing their safety and ability to serve their community more effectively.
As a UX Researcher in Productivity, you'll conduct end-to-end research on various products transforming how police officers report and manage their daily activities. Partnering with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers as a thought partner, conducting research that provides valuable insights into the user experience shaping our products in every stage of development.
Your knowledge of methods and techniques will guide product teams to conducting high quality research into the user experience in public safety.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 104,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 156,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors. What You'll Do

Reports to: Manager, UX Research
This is an Individual Contributor role
- Lead UX research studies across various products in the Axon ecosystem.
- Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering to develop strategic goals.
- Conduct research using a mixed-method approach; including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and rapid ethnography.
- Analyze quantitative data to discover patterns in user behavior.
- Develop user-driven insights that translate into actionable solutions.
- Create and communicate solutions through artifacts such as journey maps, presentations, share-outs, and other creative outlets.
- Present findings across the organization up to the executive level, fostering alignment and influence through compelling storytelling and impactful data.
- Consult for other product teams on appropriate methods and techniques.
- Occasional travel to agencies and conduct field studies, ride-alongs, and focus groups.
- Act as an advocate and promoter of the research culture at Axon.
What you Bring
- 1+ years of experience in UX research, an applied research setting, or similar.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of these disciplines: Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, related field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree is required.
- Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
- Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods.
- Experience with quantitative analysis. Demonstrated skills with descriptive, inferential, and multivariate statistics preferred.
- Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross-functional partners to drive impact.
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a collaborative team.
