The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead who can effectively guide a team of product designers and software engineers in developing the first version of a product for one of our most important clients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, offering architectural guidance and managing the entire software development lifecycle using an agile approach. This role requires someone who can coordinate the efforts of multiple team members and interact with diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate should be hands-on, capable of architecting and leading multiple initiatives, capable of creating quick proof of concepts, troubleshooting complex issues, reviewing code, and providing clear direction to the team, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Your qualifications and experience

Leadership

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality products.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.

Project Management

• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from inception to deployment, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Conduct regular status meetings, track progress, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Technical Expertise

• Offer architectural guidance and technical direction to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the engineering process.
• Be hands-on in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, as well as reviewing and approving code.

Stakeholders Interaction

• Collaborate with product owners and other stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and clients, providing clear and concise updates on project status and technical challenges.

Must Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in leadership or management role.
• Demonstrable experience building and leading the creation of product MVPs
• Proven experience managing and delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong technical background with expertise in software architecture, development, and deployment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience with Next.js framework for the frontend, and Nest.js for the backend.
• Experience building robust, scalable and secure AWS based infrastructures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira or similar.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the legal industry
• Familiar with latest AI technologies and related tools and frameworks
• Experience building systems that integrate with multiple external APIs
